Architecture Wednesday: House Mazeres

This is definitely a case of taking something old — and honoring its history — and then turning the inside into something very modern and unexpected.

This is, or was, an old farmhouse in the French countryside near the village of Mazeres.
The interior of the old stone structure was completely gutted, and the two-and three-stories were then modified and reconfigured to create a more open space, with a mezzanine inset with glass flooring to allow light into the downstairs living room.

I’m also up for a chance to take something old and then strip it down and create something new.

Plus, it’s French so there’s that …
