Who Do I Hafta F**k To Get A Decent Senator For South Carolina?

Here in South Carolina, where it’s not the heat, but the stupidity, we have Lindsey Graham as our representative in the United States Senate. And for that I apologize, though I have never voted for the man.

Still, he’s a delusional goose-stepping asshat of epic proportions and the state of South Carolina could do better if we could just “Lose Lindsey” — those are the words on signs along some of the roads around here, and here’s hoping they come true.

See, Lindsey is a moron. Folks say he’s gay, he says he isn’t; I make jokes about him being gay, but the fact is I hope he isn’t just some deeply closeted self-loathing queer who will one day get outed by having anonymous sex at a Chick-fil-A because I don’t want him on my team.

And he makes the most idiotic statements that cause even some within his own party to call him an idiot, like when he linked the crisis in the Ukraine to Benghazi, and then, of course, blamed it all on Obama, by Tweeting:

“It started with Benghazi. When you kill Americans and nobody pays a price, you invite this type of aggression. #Ukraine”

Poor Lindsey. he's tried to link everything from Obamacare to the minimum wage increase to that missing airliner from Malaysia to Benghazi and none of it works. And when even people on the right suggested, and actually said, that he was a foolish old fool, he doubled down on the rhetoric:

“Putin basically came to the conclusion after Benghazi, Syria, Egypt - everything Obama has been engaged in - he's a weak indecisive leader.”

And so, he rails against Obama because Obama won’t instantly go to war with Russia, with Lindsey Graham, our good old homo, er, home boy from South Carolina, saying:

“Well, number one, stop going on television and trying to threaten thugs and dictators. It is not your strong suit. Every time the president goes on national television and threatens Putin or anyone like Putin, everybody’s eyes roll, including mine. We have a weak and indecisive president that invites aggression. President Obama needs to do something.”

Big words spoken form the safety of his Senate offices where a war wouldn’t affect him, considering we’re still engaged in battles in other parts of the world. Maybe Lindsey wants the Old 'W' Days where We The people were lied to about wars and why we were there and when it was over — Mission Accomplished, anyone?

Now, that’s bad enough that Little Lindsey the War Hawk is rattling his saber to get into a battle he won’t personally fight, but let’s toss in some other things about Graham that show what a complete and utter waste of a senate vote he is.

Graham, as a typical Republican nestled deep in the pockets of the National Rifle Association [NRA] opposes gun safety regulations. Gun safety? He’s against it.

During a recent heated exchange at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing about Senator Dianne Feinstein’s proposed assault weapons ban, Edward Flynn, a Milwaukee police chief, pointedly interrupted Graham’s claims that the federal government is failing to deter individuals from misrepresenting themselves in the background check process by failing to prosecute people who were rejected from purchasing a weapon as a result of their false claims.

Flynn argued that rather than embark on a “paper chase” to punish those who bought guns illegally, law enforcement officials are focused on preventing people from purchasing guns illegally in the first place:

GRAHAM: When almost 80,000 people fail a background check and 44 people are prosecuted, what kind of deterrent is that? I mean, the law obviously is not seeing that as important…. We absolutely do nothing to enforce the laws on the books…

FLYNN: Just for the record, from my point of view, the point of a background check…

GRAHAM: How many cases have you made? How many cases have you made?

FLYNN: It doesn’t matter, it’s a paper thing. I want to stop 76,000 people from getting guns illegally. That’s what a background check does. If you think we’re going to do paperwork prosecutions, you’re wrong. [...] We don’t make those cases. We have priorities. We make gun cases. We make 2,000 gun cases a year, senator, that’s our priority. We’re not in a paper chase. We’re trying to prevent the wrong people from buying guns. That’s why we do background checks. If you think I’m going to do a paper chase, then you think I’m going to misuse my resources.

Flynn is talking to a brick wall because Lindsey Graham suckles the teat of the NRA.

But what to do? Vote him out? Oh, how I would love that. But when you look at the people who are running against Graham, well, then we have other issues.

Last week, four of Graham's announced challengers in the upcoming GOP primary pledged support for each other if any of them end up in a runoff with the Seneca incumbent. It’s four against one. But then, at a news conference announcing their alliance on the State House steps, when Dave Feliciano, one of the other candidates, albeit a rather minor one whose chances of being elected are worse than mine, walked up to the podium and called Graham "ambiguously gay:”

"It's about time that South Carolina (says) hey, We're tired of the ambiguously gay senator from South Carolina. We're ready for a new leader to merge the Republican Party. We're done with this. This is what it's about, all of us coming together and saying, one way or the other, one of us is going to be on that ballot in November."

Wow, so two of our choices for Senator are a War Hawk and NRA lapdog or a homophobe who thinks we need a straight man to stand up for the state.
