Imagine A New Constitution

I usually save quotes till the end of the week but when I found this incredibly offensive, yet plainly clear, quote from Bay Buchanan, a campaign advisor to Mittsy, I felt it deserve a special place on ISBL.

See, Bay wants us all to know that Mittsy still hates Gay Folks and will work tirelessly to create a federal ban on marriage equality:
"Governor Romney supports a federal marriage amendment to the Constitution that defines marriage as an institution between a man and a woman. Governor Romney also believes, consistent with the 10th Amendment, that it should be left to states to decide whether to grant same-sex couples certain benefits, such as hospital visitation rights and the ability to adopt children. I referred to the Tenth Amendment only when speaking about these kinds of benefits, not marriage."
So, I don't know who would vote for a man who wants to add discrimination to the United States Constitution.

I mean, lets' be clear, there are all sorts of benefits that go along with being marriage on the federal level, and even if some states allow--and don't get me started on having anyone "allow" me equality--The Gays to marry we will still be second class citizens; we will still be less than. We will still not be part of this country where everyone else has rights and privileges and benefits of marriage.

I don't care if you don't like Obama's policies. I don't care of you think he should have fixed the greatest economic struggle this country has faced since the great depression in a minute and a half. I don't care what you think about Barack Obama.

At least he will not change the United States Constitution, which was created "in Order to form a more perfect Union" to allow one segment of the population discriminate against another. How un-American is that?

Imagine yourself on the side of discrimination. Imagine that. Imagine having your own government tell you that you don't deserve being treated equally.

That's a Mitt Romney vision for America forgetting whatever you think about his taxes, and his refusal to discuss them, the fact that he often shoves both feet in his mouth at the same time, the fact that he is a member of the anti-women, anti-gay, anti-immigration, anti-healthcare party. Forget that he changes his mind on any manner of issues, depending on where he's speaking; this one issue he stays firm on: equality for Gay Americans will not happen if he's elected.

Imagine discrimination written into our Constitution.

Imagine.
